HITO Industry Leadership Forums
HITO has travelled the country to host the HITO Industry Leadership Forums.
Starting in Auckland, CEO Kay Nelson and General Manager – Stakeholder Engagement Debra Hawkins travelled through New Zealand, running workshops with employers in Auckland, Christchurch, Wellington, Dunedin, Invercargill, Nelson, Hamilton, New Plymouth, and Palmerston North.
At each forum, HITO gathered feedback from attendees on the current qualifications offered and future employer requirements needed from HITO. Discussions included how relevant the current qualifications were in meeting industry needs and how well the support services that HITO currently offer meet employer and industry needs.
These forums were extremely valuable for HITO, and we look forward to implementing the suggestions put forward. HITO is committed to ensuring careers in hair and barbering are viewed as credible options, and that the industry will continue to grow and remain successful far into the future. A similar consultation process is currently being planned for our apprentices and providers to make sure we are also meeting their needs.
